One place that truly surprised us in Ischia was Poseidon Gardens Thermal Park. The setting alone is simply stunning. The terraced gardens overlooking the sea, the lush Mediterranean plants, and the classical Italian statues of Poseidon scattered throughout the park create an atmosphere that genuinely makes you feel like you’ve stepped into a little paradise. It’s elegant without feeling intimidating, and the views over the coastline are unforgettable.

Although children under 12 are not permitted in the thermal baths themselves, this didn’t limit our experience as much as we initially feared. There are several swimming pools that children can access, as well as a private beach with direct access to the sea, which made it easy to alternate between pool time and saltwater swims. This balance allowed us to enjoy the peaceful setting while still keeping our child happily occupied.

The park is the largest thermal complex on the island, with more than twenty thermal pools ranging from 28°C to 40°C, along with sea water pools and a steam grotto. Even if you’re not focused on the therapeutic aspect, soaking in the mineral-rich water feels deeply restorative after days of sightseeing.

Practical tip: Swimming hats are mandatory in the pools, but you can easily purchase one on site if you forget to bring it.

Before visiting, we imagined a strictly adult spa environment. After spending the day there, we realized Poseidon Gardens offers a surprisingly balanced experience — part wellness retreat, part scenic coastal escape — making it a worthwhile stop even when traveling as a family.
