Located in the heart of town, this charming playground is ideal for younger children. It features swings, slides, climbing structures, and plenty of space to run around. Plus, it’s just a short stroll from cafés and shops—perfect for a relaxing break while the kids play. -
Adventure Park & Fly Line " Emozion Col de Flam"
Just a few minutes from the center of Ortisei, this adventure park is packed with fun for all ages. -
If you're visiting Ortisei in winter, don't miss the chance to try one of the longest sledge runs in Italy – Rasciesa, stretching for an impressive 4.9 kilometers. To reach it, head to the Rasciesa funicular station in Ortisei. You can rent a sledge right next to the ticket office before boarding the funicular (note: it's a train, not a cable car). The ride includes a middle stop – don’t get off there! That’s actually where you’ll return after sledging down from the top. Once you're at the summit, enjoy the exhilarating descent and then decide whether to head back up for another round or call it a day and return to the base. Depending on snow conditions, we highly recommend bringing protective glasses – the ride can get fast, and snow and ice often splash up into your face. After just three runs, we were already worn out, so in our opinion, a full-day ticket isn’t really necessary. If you already have a Dolomiti Superski Pass or Val Gardena Pass, you can use it for the Rasciesa funicular as well.

Ortisei is home to a rich cultural heritage, which is visible in its charming architecture and historic landmarks. The town is known for its wood-carving traditions, and you can visit local shops and museums to learn about its craftsmanship and history.
Having considered all that this town has to offer, it’s not difficult to imagine that Ortisei is also one of the most expensive towns in the area.
However, if you’re renting a car and don’t mind a short drive, there are more budget-friendly options just 15 minutes away. Nearby villages still offer incredible views and access to the same trails and ski lifts — but without the premium cost.
Ortisei is absolutely worth visiting, but with a little planning, you can experience its magic without blowing your entire travel budget.
Family Events in the Dolomites
4 February 2026 | 9:30 PM – Pra di Tori Slope, Passo Carezza

Experience the magic of Carezza Snow Night, an enchanting evening show on the snow celebrating skiing in all its forms. Enjoy torchlit performances by ski instructors inspired by the legend of King Laurin, freestyle and telemark demonstrations, vintage ski descents in retro costumes, and a spectacular finale with snow groomers dancing to music and lights.
A short 500 m walk from the pass parking area is required. Warm clothing and snow boots (or crampons) are recommended.

15 February 2026 | 2:30 PM – Campitello di Fassa, Main Square

Don’t miss the highlight of Ladin Carnival: the vibrant Campitello Grand Parade. Experience a burst of colour, music, and tradition as the iconic Grop de la Mescrès de Ciampedèl leads the procession with Laché, Bufon, and Marascons, followed by masks, floats, and lively performances through the town.
Hand-carved wooden masks, laughter-filled streets, and delicious local treats create an unforgettable atmosphere. This year’s theme celebrates the Olympics and winter sports, bringing snow-inspired magic to the parade.

17 February 2026 | 2:30 PM – Vigo di Fassa (along Strada Rezia)

Strada Rezia comes alive with masks, colour, and music for the Grand Carnival Parade, marking the joyful finale of Ladin Carnival. The procession features allegorical floats led by the traditional masks Bufon, Laché, and Marascons, followed by dancers, performers, and local groups from across the valley.
After the parade, enjoy classic Carnival treats like apple fritters, fortaie, and sausage sandwiches in Piaz J.B. Massar, before the celebration continues into the evening in Piaz de Vich with DJ Fufu.
A lively blend of tradition, creativity, and fun — the perfect way to end Carnival in Val di Fassa.

Ortisei Carnival – 12 February 2026 | From 3:00 PM
​
Join the Carnival celebrations in Ortisei starting at 3:00 PM with a colourful parade departing from Hotel Madonna and winding through the pedestrian zone to Parish Square, where the best costumes will be awarded.
The fun continues in the evening with live music from 7:30 PM at the Youth Centre “Circolo”, followed by the spectacular Carnival Ski Show at 9:00 PM, presented by the Saslong Ski School.
A festive event for families, filled with music, costumes, and winter magic — running until late evening.

Children’s Carnival Games – Selva di Val Gardena | 17 February 2026 | 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Join a fun-filled morning at Pra da Nives (in front of the town hall) organized by the Selva Tourist Association in collaboration with VKE. Kids can explore different stations, complete exciting games, and collect stamps along the way!
